Ricardo Marrero & The Group: A Taste

Back in the days of good old digging, when you made a mistake sometimes you were allowed a second chance! At a late 90’s Paris record fair, a latin dealer offered me an original copy of Marrero’s TSG holy grail LP for 500 french francs. As it was a lot of money in those days for a record I hesitated and finally refused the offer. The LP sold immediately to another collector and I soon realized I made a big mistake! Not only the record was a rare groove hell of an LP but it was so rare that even my friends working at A1 in NYC at that time (Aldo & Lord Funk) had never seen a copy! But it was probably written that I should get a copy of this one because a couple of years later, I have been lucky enough to find another copy at another record fair, this time for 40 french francs (7 euros!!!!). Still in my shelves.

Bar-Kays – You can’t run away
One of their nicest 80s songs with some hints of Milton Wright’s best melodies. Classic!
